We are so happy to have been able to fund the cold cap system for Gemelli Hospital. Studies show that 80% of patients saved their hair, and we hope that the system will have a similar efficacy. Chemotherapy-induced hair loss is a distressing side-effect, and it is proven that hair preservation impacts an improvement in self-confidence. Studies also show that 87.5% of patients state that participation is an overall positive experience and that their quality of life including careers, privacy, self-esteem, and self-image would have been negatively impacted if they had not kept their hair.
